Simple Detox Tips for Busy Moms

All the stores seem to think it's Fall (like, seriously there are even pumpkins already out in the home-decor departments, lol) 🎃

I want to remind you that with the "back to routine" season upon us, it's a perfect time to remind you to put yourself first, so you can be, do, and give more to your family!

You can't go go go and do do do unless you are healthy and happy!! Otherwise, you'll head straight to burnout!!

One of my secret weapons when it comes to feeling happy, healthy, and thriving is... You guessed it – a happy, healthy, thriving gut! I know, it's not a "glamorous" topic, but it's an IMPORTANT one that I will continue sharing & educating about forever! Focusing on this one area of my body over all the other things I have done, has made THE biggest difference for my wellness.

But, I'm all about keeping things real and simple.

So, here are some easy tips regarding gut health AND self-care.

🍋 Morning Routine

If you follow me at all, you know I have a morning routine that involves taking my supplements/vitamins, and then I have a cup of warm lemon water. Not only is it incredibly beneficial, but it also sets a positive tone for the day.

👩🏻‍🌾 Farm Fresh Eats

Fall means a bounty of deliciousness, so load up on seasonal fruits and veggies (organic from a local farmer if you can!) Apples, pears, sweet potatoes – they're not just tasty; they're loaded with fiber that your gut will thank you for.

🧠 Get Friendly with Probiotics

Your gut is like a second brain. So much of how you FEEL depends on your gut health. Seriously. I wish more women especially realized HOW important gut health is. Think of probiotics as your gut's BFFs. Yogurt, kefir, and fermented foods like sauerkraut can help keep everything in balance. But if those aren't your jam, I'm a fan of VERY HIGH QUALITY supplements that actually get 90+% absorbed by your body.

🍴 Chew on this...

Slow down and savor each bite. Did you know that mindful eating and chewing a bit slower will actually help support better gut health, too? It's true! Plus, you'll actually taste the flavors more, which can be more satisfying with less food – it's a win-win!

🌶 Spice Up Your Life

Let those fall spices work their magic. Cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric not only add a kick to your food but also help soothe your gut and reduce inflammation.

💧 Stay Hydrated, Sis

Keep sipping water all day long, even when it's cooler weather. Toxins need a vehicle to leave, and hydration is the way!! Herbal teas, antioxidant drinks, gut health greens, infused water, and nourishing broths – they're like little sips of self-love for your gut. For an extra boost of hydration, add my fav supplement into water for a great taste AND make it more effective if water's not your fav.

🕺🏻Move It!

Whether it's a walk outdoors, a quick yoga session in your living room, or an impromptu dance party with the kiddos (or by yourself!), moving gets things moving in your gut too!!! So yeah, bust a move!

🌳 Unplug for the Win

I have been doing a LOT of this lately and whoa - it's been a huge help for my health. Take a breather from screens and dive into real life. Put down the phone, grab a book, scribble in a journal, or just have a heart-to-heart with a good friend or reconnect with your spouse. Your gut AND your soul will thank you.

Cheers to feeling happy, healthy, and thriving from the inside out as we enter into the last few months of 2023!!
